Looking to network with others in your field, or for a resume booster? Or do you want to ‘give back’ to your field?
Regardless of your goal, now is the perfect time to maximize your WIDNENY membership by becoming a WIDNENY Committee member. Serving as a volunteer committee member, you’ll learn more about WIDNENY while working with other great development professionals.

The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting new WIDNENY members and ensuring membership renewals. Chair: Nicole Burch
The Program Committee is responsible for planning and executing all programs. Duties include brainstorming direction of topics, recruiting speakers, preparing event flyers and promotion, coordinating with the venue and post-event wrap-up, such as thank yous and reviewing evaluations. This committee meets monthly.
The Public Relations Committee is responsible for the quarterly newsletter, writing content, editing all submissions and designing the layout. The committee also writes and distributes press releases, assists with the WIDNENY Web site and works on other special projects. The committee meets in person once per year and otherwise keeps in contact via e-mail.
The Scholarship Committee is responsible for recruiting applicants for the Scholarship Program, evaluating applications and all communications with the winners. This committee meets once in late winter to review the scholarship applications; the remainder of the committee’s work is conducted via e-mail.
The Finance Committee is responsible for developing WIDNENY’s annual budget and overseeing all income and expenses. This committee works closely with the Treasurer to ensure all financial matters are handled efficiently and appropriately. The committee meets in person twice a year, with monthly e-mail communication about financial reports. Most of the committee’s work occurs in the spring, when preparing the budget.
And finally, the Nominating Committee is responsible for recruiting and screening individuals to serve on committees and the Board of Directors. This committee meets in person twice a year, and the remainder of the year accomplishes committee work via e-mail. Chair: Sharon Smith
